Evaluation of Nurses’ Attitudes Toward Medical Errors

Aim: This study was realized with the aim to evaluate nurses’ attitudes toward medical errors. Method: Data were collected from 149 nurses in a university hospital Turkey, using Scale of Attitudes Medical Errors developed by Güleç and Seren Intepeler (2013) staff information form prepared line literature data. Results: Nurses’ errors generally positive, intensive care unit (ICU) found have more positive than ward nurses. The factors that caused included an increasing number patients per shift, workforce shortage, intensifying workload, lack knowledge experience. While majority believed reporting decreased errors, most them refrained for which they responsible. Conclusion: results may be useful nurse managers leaders reach comprehensive understanding encourage support their improving working environment.
